A Magical Reading Adventure!
Cheerbird was started with a dream of sparking the joy of reading for children. Childhood is a time of growth and wonder, and stories make childhood even more wonderful. Our mission is to help children have joy in reading. We're here to help struggling readers, educate about dyslexia, and make sure everyone is having fun learning to read.
Love for all learners
At Cheerbird we want to ignite the love of reading for all kids, and give some special help to those who are struggling. We are dedicated to supporting our dyslexic learners, and want to help show them how amazing they are. Struggling, reluctant and dyslexic readers are our specialty. Cheerful reading starts here!
A different way of teaching
Struggling readers tend to keep struggling with traditional learn-to-read methods. We focus on a different way of teaching. The Orton-Gilligham method is a proven approach for dyslexic readers. This multi-sensory, step-by step, scaffolding helps children to succeed and want to continue reading. Bit by bit the child builds reading confidence and excitement for learning more. At Cheerbird we take the Multisensory approach to the next level by adding art, music, and movement to our teaching.
"Dyslexia is not a pigeonhole to say you can’t do anything. It is an opportunity and a possibility to learn differently. You have magical brains, they just process differently."

Welcome to Cheerbird! A little about me…After finding out my child was dyslexic in 2012 I felt incredibly overwhelmed and stressed about what to do next. In the last twelve years, I have learned much about what Dyslexia is and what it isn’t. I have helped my dyslexic learner navigate traditional school, homeschool, 504’s, IEP’s, and accommodations. In 2018 I completed my Dyslexia Practitioner certification so I could help when school support was no longer available. We now have a confident reader.
I love helping parents, kids, and teachers navigate the world of Dyslexia. I believe all kids should enjoy the process of learning to read. So often, Dyslexic kids get left behind and their confidence and self-worth suffers. My goal is to transform the reading journey into a cheerful and happy one, and ultimately help kids see how amazing they truly are. I’m so glad you are here!
